Garage Conversion – Garden Office & Workshop
The client had an underused garage they wanted to transform into a practical workspace – part garden office, part workshop and part storage space.
Rather than starting from scratch, we worked with the existing structure wherever possible, keeping costs down whilst making the most of what was already there. From the outset, I worked closely with the client to understand exactly how they wanted to use the space, translating their ideas into clear design decisions and advising on what would work best in practice.
I brought in trusted tradespeople to handle the crafted joinery and electrical fit-out, ensuring the finished space feels warm, well-built and genuinely usable all year round.
The result is a polished, insulated workspace the client can use every day.
It's a project that sums up how I like to work: closely with the client, understanding what they need, and finding straightforward solutions that deliver something they're genuinely proud of.

About Mark
I'm Mark, the owner of Ralphs Building Services, a Bristol-based building company specialising in extensions, domestic refurbishments, structural alterations, brickwork and stonework.
I've spent more than 30 years working on a wide range of projects, from new-build homes to complex restoration work on older properties.
Over the years, I've developed skills across all aspects of construction and progressed into project management and site foreman roles, giving me the experience to oversee projects from start to finish. I understand that a successful build isn't just about quality workmanship – it's about clear communication, careful planning and delivering what was promised.
I established Ralphs Building Services to bring together everything I've learnt throughout my career and provide clients with a professional, reliable building service they can trust.
I take great pride in my work and genuinely enjoy the challenges that every project brings. Whether it's solving a structural issue, managing a complex renovation or creating additional space for a growing family, I believe there's always a practical solution. My aim is simple: to deliver high-quality work that both my clients and I can be proud of.
